HE Audio: Create

Creating HE Audio files is easy.

File extensions

For audio only podcasts, use the file extension .m4a. For video podcasts, use the file extension .m4v.

Using Adobe Audition

Go to File > Export > Multitrack Mixdown and choose an option, then click Format Settings to select MPEG-4 HE AAC V2.

The result is an AAC file.1

Using iTunes

In iTunes’s Preferences, go to the General tab and click Import Settings.
